- Cámara de Representantes
Se renuevan los 435 escaños de la Cámara de Representantes. Actualmente, con mayoría demócrata 237-197. Las encuestas apuntan a una posible ampliación del control de los progresistas. La presidenta de la Cámara, la legisladora Nancy Pelosi, ya anunciado que buscará seguir al frente. Entre las figuras en alza está la joven estrella demócrata Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, que se prevé que mantendrá su escaño.
- Senado
En el Senado el resultado es más incierto y será uno de los elementos más importantes de la noche electoral. Los republicanos controlan la Cámara Alta por un estrecho margen: 53-47. En esta ocasión se renuevan 35 de los 100 senadores. Los demócratas consideran posible arrebatar la mayoría, ya que de 23 de esos 35 están ahora en manos de republicanos, y muchos de ellos enfrentan contiendas disputadas.
El control del Senado es fundamental ya que es donde se confirman los altos cargos del Ejecutivo y los jueces del Tribunal Supremo.
Gobernadores
También
se deciden el martes los gobernadores de 11 de los 50 estados del país:
Misuri, Montana, Carolina del Norte, Nuevo Hampshire, Virginia
Occidental, Delaware, Indiana, Dakota del Norte, Utah, Vermont y
Washington. En Estados Unidos los estados cuentan con amplios margen de
actuación por lo que controlar las casas de Gobernaciones es una
importante palanca de poder.

En las elecciones también se votan una serie de iniciativas populares en función de cada estado.
Los
votantes de cuatro estados Dakota del Sur, Nueva Jersey, Arizona y
Montana decidirán si legalizan el uso recreativo de la marihuana.

Congress
- House of Representatives
The
435 seats in the House of Representatives are renewed. Currently with a
